HBRC Code of Practice Print E-mail

This simple code of practice has been developed to increase your enjoyment from the sport, and help us run the race programme to schedule.

All club members must abide by these rules or risk expulsion from club.

Remember the primary function of HBRC is to host organised racing in accordance with the NZRCA rules. It is not a free-for-all venue for mucking about.

TRACK ACCESS

Our lease agreement with the A & P Society is for access to the grounds for racing on two Sundays a month, as well as maintenance days. For other days such as the Summer Series or National Champs we must gain prior approval. The Society has been lenient in the past but due to abuse there will be far tighter security on this matter. Anyone found there without good reason will be asked to leave.

There will be no use of the track other than scheduled meetings. We do not want to lose the facility so please conform to these instructions. If at any time a club member finds "strays" using the track please ask them to leave. They are Trespassing.

REGISTRATION DESK

It is up to club members to register and pay their race fees on the day.

No registration - No racing. Please confirm your radio frequency at the same time.

CODE OF PRACTICE FOR RACE DAYS

1)         HBRC is for organised racing. There will be no buggering about during racing.

2)         ALWAYS USE your elected frequency.  We have a list of members' frequencies (chosen by you) which eliminates any clashes during designated racing.  Please stick to the frequency you have chosen.  If this is not possible notify the Race Director. During Practice and at interval and lunch break - do not turn your radio on without using the correct (PINK) frequency peg.  Please return the peg ASAP so someone else can use it.

NO radios (including DSM) on during racing, except those in the race.

3)         Registration and Entry fees must be paid to Treasurer at Registration table. Registration/Entry opens by 9:30 am and closes at 9.45 am

4)         Race briefing, scrutineering & frequency issues dealt with from 9.45 am - 10.00 am. See the Race Director regarding frequency issues.

5)         Racing starts at 10.00 am sharp!!! All cars must be on the start grid. If a driver fails to be on the grid at race time, that driver may be disqualified.

6)         When a race concludes, drivers will slow down, park in an orderly fashion, collect their cars, return club transponders & leave the track immediately. Do not continue racing after the end of the race. Turn radios off ASAP.

7)         After each race drivers have five minutes to be on grid for the next race. If a driver fails to be on grid in time that driver may be disqualified.

8)         Under no circumstances will a driver leave the race stand if his or her car stops. It is a distraction to other drivers on the stand.  The driver in question shall simply step back and will only leave the stand at the completion of the race. Drivers please refrain from talking during races.

9)         Keep talking to a minimum on the drivers stand, it can be a distraction to other drivers.

10)     All drivers will be required to marshal the race immediately after their own. If you have back-to-back races please find a substitute marshal. Failure to marshal without legitimate excuse may result in disqualification from the following race.

11)     There shall be no reversing, preferably have an esc without this function. Let the marshals do their job - do not attempt to get your car unstuck by reversing, crossing into other lanes or pulling out in front of other traffic.

12)     Respect other racers on the track.  If you are being lapped by a faster driver - move aside if there is sufficient room or better still - hold your line and allow the faster driver a clean line around you.

13)     Do not tailgate or use other cars as a berm. The track has enough width for close racing and still allowing a reasonable distance between cars.

14)     Courtesy. Racing is meant to be a NON-CONTACT sport, however collisions will occur at times. The driver most at fault must wait for the other driver/s to go before continuing to race.

15)     Drive within your ability. Other drivers do not want their cars broken and we do not want the track barriers smashed up from reckless driving. Drivers who simply crash from corner to corner may be disqualified.

16)     No Alcohol. There will be no consumption of alcohol whatsoever at the track during club race meetings.

17)     No children. During race meetings all children are to be supervised by a parent or guardian, and there shall be no children within the fenced track area.

18)     No dogs. The A & P society rules ban all dogs (apart from competition animals) in the showgrounds. Please respect this and leave your dogs at home.
